GreenPrint Launches Version 3.0

Redesigned for Windows 10, GreenPrint’s Version 3 aims to save more money and trees.

PORTLAND, OR — August 25, 2016 — GreenPrint Technologies today announced the launch of GreenPrint Version 3.0. After more than three years in development, the software boasts major feature and performance improvements, and has been totally redesigned and optimized around Windows 10.

The paper-saving software, which eliminates unwanted pages and reduces printing by 17% or more, has been redesigned from the ground up around Microsoft’s most recent operating system. In addition to improved speed, the new architecture also provides greater waste detection functionality and integrates with Metro apps.

“After years of development and beta testing with large organizations we’re very excited to make Version 3 available to everyone,” said GreenPrint founder Hayden Hamilton.

GreenPrint software analyzes each page of every document sent to the printer and looks for typical waste characteristics (e.g. pages with just a URL, banner ad, logo, or legal jargon) and then highlights and removes them. It also makes it easier for users to select only the pages they want to print, provides image removal options, and allows a file to be saved as a PDF rather than printing.

GreenPrint saves the average user over $40 and 1,400 wasted pages per year and allows enterprises to quantify the ecological and cost-saving benefits that result from using the software. GreenPrint is bundled with all of Xerox’s ecofriendly Solid Ink line of printers, as well as being used by universities, governments and Fortune 500 companies.
